Femtech Media participated in the 23rd Worl Partnership Walk which took place across Canada on Sunday, May 27th, 2007 (June 3rd in Ottawa). Once a year, Femtech Media supports the World Partnership Walk. It is a reputable, far reaching events that has been publicized, embraced, and applauded for its role in local, national, and international efforts to help those individuals and families who don't even have the basic necessities.
The Walk, which is held in nine cities across the country, is Canada's largest national event dedicated to helping communities in the developing world break the cycle of poverty.
An initiative of Aga Khan Foundation Canada (AKFC), the Walk has a real impact on the lives of poor communities in Africa and Asia, bringing effective and lasting development solutions to some of the poorest communities in Asia and Africa. All contributions to the Walk (100%) go directly to programs that improve education and health care, enhance rural livelihoods and strengthen community-based organizations.
"I know that we all feel the pinch of rising costs", says Femtech's president Karima Premji, "but when we take a moment to pause from our hectic lives and appreciate all the blessings we have and take for granted, how can we not share a little of our wealth."
Donations made online are sent an official tax receipt within 2-3 business days. All donations are matched dollar for dollar by Canada in its effort to ellimnate hunger and poverty internationally.
